Sillouette Cameo cutting different from one side to the next

PostPosted by TrishkaD » Fri Apr 11, 2014 5:30 pm

I am cutting a 12X20 inch sheet of heat press vinyl - the holographic. Towards the left side the cuts are not weeding properly and at the bottom it is doing even worse. What causes this and what can I do about it. I can't afford to waste too much material. Please let me know what you think. Thanks,

I am wondering how your extra material is supported before and after it goes through the machine? Is something causing a drag or pull on the material? I have my cutter on top of a somewhat narrow bookcase, so I use a thick plastic ruler under it to support the material out straight in front of the machine rather than having it drape down over the edge. I find it feeds and cuts better for me that way.

It still weeds better on the right side than the left, but...I upped the pressure on the cutter and it now weeds much better. IDK why it is doing that, but at least I found a work around.

check your cutting strip. see if it is situated correctly or if it is worn down on one side or the other. It can account fro uneven cutting.
